USB data key theft could have been avoided, says Avanquest
14 June 2007
The theft of a USB key belonging to a Perth and Kinross Council
employee, reported in the Perth Advertiser (21 March), could have been
prevented with Avanquest’s latest security products, according to the
software developer.
ControlGuard’s Endpoint Access Manager program manages all removable
media, input/output USB devices and communication interfaces, and offers
“complete endpoint security” by controlling, monitoring and logging how
information is downloaded and uploaded.
And by combining Endpoint with SanDisk manager — an Avanquest product
which centrally deploys tracks, manages and audits the activity of
company information stored on corporate drives even after they have left
the network — Avanquest is “able to offer the complete solution to
protect against data loss, identity theft and malicious intent”.
